The Ugly Duckling
LIGHTWIRE THEATER (UNITED STATES)
GRADES K-4
Experience Hans Christian Andersen’s story of a “duckling” turned beautiful swan through a cutting-edge blend of puppetry, technology and dance. Clothed in black, the performers remain invisible to the audience as crayon-like squiggles bring to life the different creatures. Containing no spoken word, the classic story is revealed through ballet-like movements, puppetry, and a creative score ranging from classical to jazz to pop which underscores the emotion of this tale of acceptance.
Discover (again!) the familiar story of celebrating differences and the power of transformation, now infused with new light.
The 10 AM performance of The Ugly Duckling on Thursday, November 1 is currently at capacity.
