How Well Do You Know Tortoise and the Hare

The Adventures of Tortoise and Hare

Coming to the Des Moines Civic Center is The Adventures of Tortoise and Hare: The Next Gen! This story begins with Aesop’s classic fable of the Tortoise and The Hare and continues 10 years down the road when they meet again. When the children are in trouble, Old Man Tortoise and Big Daddy Hare reunite to bring them home. As The Adventures of Tortoise and Hare: The Next Gen nears Des Moines, we want to test your knowledge on how well you know these friendly creatures.

Now you are all ready to see The Adventures of Tortoise and Hare: The Next Gen on November 4, 2023. Creators Ian Carney, Corbin Popp, and their wives, Eleanor and Whitney, developed a creative medium for storytelling. Fueled by imagination, the use of electroluminescent wire enabled endless possibilities. This unique show combines lightwire performance with glow-in-the dark puppets, creative music, and an entertaining story. Each lightwire performance is a unique interpretation of a story told solely through movement and puppetry. Bring the whole family together for this fun show!
