Multicultural Student Leadership Program 

May 21 - May 31, 2024 

LOCATIONS: DES MOINES CIVIC CENTER, TEMPLE THEATER, STONER THEATER, COWLES COMMONS

 

OVERVIEW:

Des Moines Performing Arts is seeking two students of color interested in developing their leadership skills in business and/or arts management.  

In this two-week program participants will be exposed to leaders within our organization and community. Participants will learn about essential business functions in each department and network with community leaders in the Des Moines area who support DMPA’s mission.  

The goal of our multicultural program is to inspire and offer opportunities in the live entertainment industry to students of color.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • This scholarship is available to students of color who attend an accredited college or university with planned graduation dates between 2024 and 2027 
  • Minimum GPA of 3.2 
  • Must be able to commit to mandatory attendance throughout program (5/21-5/22) 
  • Must be attentive and willing to learn various aspects of the organization 
  • Must be an active participant in group activities  
  • Must be resourceful, innovative, forward thinking, and committed
