CAPITAL CITY PRIDE PRESENTS: MICHAEL ARCENEAUX

Michael Arceneaux is a Houston-bred, Howard-educated writer and author. His first book, I Can’t Date Jesus, was just released on July 24, 2018 from Atria Books/Simon & Schuster. Additionally, he is a regular contributor to outlets such Essence, Complex, The Root, and Into, among others. Moreover, he’s written for the New York Times, the Washington Post, Rolling Stone, Teen Vogue, NBCTHINK, Wired, Buzzfeed, The Guardian, Mic, Esquire, Time Ideas, Vulture, Salon, The Atlantic, Comedy Central Online, among others. He writes about race, sexuality, politics, religion, and Beyoncé.

His work has been referenced everywhere from The Weekly Standard to Jezebel to MSNBC and even been deemed required reading for courses at Harvard UniversityMichael’s has also been featured on MSNBC, NPR, BET, VH1, Viceland, SiriusXM Radio, in addition to various radio interviews on nationally syndicated programs. The Root once named Michael one of the Best Black Bloggers to Know. Essence named him one of the top #BlackTwitter voices to follow.
