Of Gravity and Light - School Show
Event Details
Ballet Des Moines is thrilled to invite students age 8 and up to experience “Of Gravity and Light,” a new contemporary performance that interprets the science of our solar system through music, dance, and video. Students will experience creative interpretations of the Sun-Earth-Moon system while engaging with learning opportunities with professionals in the fields of science and the arts.
Free admission. Advanced ticket reservations required.

Participating schools can choose to experience an additional and optional experience at the Science Center of Iowa
Students will actively connect content from Of Gravity and Light to the newly renovated Why The Sky exhibit, learning how the mass of planets relate to the gravity and gravitational pull. Schools will also explore the wonders of our solar system in the Iowa Night Sky exhibit. Please note experience is limited to 100 students and will incur a fee of $2 per student. Email Jolie Pelds, Director of Innovative STEM Teaching for more information and to register for this additional experience. Space for lunch will be provided at the Science Center; the science experience will occur from 12:45 - 2:00 pm
