Student Rush

At Des Moines Performing Arts, we believe that everyone should have access to the transformative power of live theater, especially students. Our Student Rush program offers current students the opportunity to purchase last-minute tickets to select performances at a reduced price.

Student Rush tickets are available in person at the Des Moines Civic Center Ticket Office or online on the day of the performance.

IT'S AS EASY AS 1-2-3!

1. STOP IN AT THE CIVIC CENTER TICKET OFFICE

Show your student ID to qualify you for student rush purchases online and at the ticket office.

2. LOG IN TO PURCHASE 

After visiting the ticket office to verify your student ID, simply log into your DMPA account and use promo code STUDENT25.

3. COMPLETE YOUR TRANSACTION

Your tickets will show the full price until you reach the final shopping cart screen. At that time, the student rush discount will be applied.

TIPS FOR A SMOOTH EXPERIENCE

  • Check Availability: Visit our website or call the Ticket Office at 515-246-2300 on the day of the performance to check if Student Rush tickets are available.
  • Arrive Early: Student Rush tickets are sold on a first-come, first-served basis, so arriving early increases your chances of getting tickets.
  • Bring Your ID: Don’t forget your valid student ID, as it is required to purchase Student Rush tickets.

THE DETAILS

Purchases are limited to one ticket per student ID.

Student rush discounts are valid only on select price levels. Generally, student rush discounts for Broadway productions will be available in the A, B and C price levels, and student rush tickets for Temple Comedy productions will be available in the B price level.

Student rush discounts are available on the day of the show only.

Online purchases are subject to a 12% per ticket service fee. You may avoid the service fee by purchasing in person at the Civic Center Ticket Office.
