ABOUT THE EVENT

Sterling Elliott makes his Des Moines debut performing Haydn’s elegant Cello Concerto in D Major. Coleridge-Taylor’s The Song of Hiawatha and Dvorak’s New World Symphony bookend the concert, celebrating the rich tapestry of American musical expression.

Orchestra

The Des Moines Symphony Orchestra is one of Iowa’s and the Midwest’s premiere arts institutions.

The Symphony is the principal resident company of the acoustically acclaimed, 2,662 seat Des Moines Civic Center. Performances there on its regular season of seven pairs of Masterworks concerts have included the major works of the orchestral repertoire and collaborations with some of the music world’s most prominent soloists and artists.
