Pianist Jon Kimura Parker ignites the Civic Center with the joyful melodies and syncopated rhythms of Gershwin’s Concerto in F, framed by Des Moines composer Linda Robbins Coleman’s exuberant Music from The Celebration: A Symphonic Jubilee and Beethoven’s triumphant Symphony No. 7.

Orchestra

The Des Moines Symphony Orchestra is one of Iowa’s and the Midwest’s premiere arts institutions.

The Symphony is the principal resident company of the acoustically acclaimed, 2,662 seat Des Moines Civic Center. Performances there on its regular season of seven pairs of Masterworks concerts have included the major works of the orchestral repertoire and collaborations with some of the music world’s most prominent soloists and artists.
