DES MOINES PERFORMING ARTS ANNOUNCES THE RETURN OF FREE SUMMER COMMUNITY EVENTS AT COWLES COMMONSMonday, May 20, 2019
DES MOINES, IA ― Des Moines Performing Arts (DMPA) is excited to announce the return of three community events at Cowles Commons throughout the summer and fall. The events are part of a larger initiative by DMPA to program Cowles Commons and engage the community. The events include:
FAM JAM – “FAMILY JAMBOREE” MINI FESTIVALS
- Sunday, July 28, 2019
- Sunday, August 25, 2019
- Sunday, September 29, 2019
11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Sunday FAM JAM “Family Jamboree” events are free and open to the public.
- Children’s Band Live on Stage (bands to be announced)
- Bounce houses
- Art projects and activity stations with community partners
- Food trucks
- Lauridsen Fountain
WELLNESS WEDNESDAYS YOGA
Every Wednesday, June 5 through October 9
12:00 to 1:00 p.m.
Enjoy a free yoga session in the Commons led by professional instructors. All levels and abilities are welcome.
In case of inclement weather, the session will move indoors.
FOOD TRUCK THURSDAYS
Every Thursday beginning June 6
11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
Enjoy delicious food from some of Des Moines’ most popular food trucks.
