After his teacher mentions the universe is growing, Simon Ives becomes obsessed with the idea of discovering this Edge - the place between nothing and everything, where he can just be. Simon dreams of going to a place where no one needs him to do anything. Meanwhile, at the Edge of Everything is a boy who fills his time and space with things like galaxy-spanning train sets and ten-million-piece puzzles, but longs for company. When Simon is rocketed into space (through an unlikely series of events involving lots and lots of fireworks), their worlds collide and neither will ever be the same.

Described as “interstellar surrealism,” The Boy at the Edge of Everything is an extraordinary journey of imagination and friendship by internationally acclaimed playwright Finegan Kruckemeyer. DMYAT is proud to present the Iowa premiere of this highly theatrical and inspiring story of a family we all know and the voyage we can only imagine.
