- Feathers of Fire: A Persian Epic
Feathers of Fire: A Persian Epic
Grades 3-12
This visually breathtaking shadow play is an action-packed, magical tale from the 10th century Persian epic ‘The Book of Kings’. Will star-crossed lovers Zaul and Rudabeh triumph against all odds? The all-ages adventure is an amazing update on the classic shadow play – a storied cultural form across Asia and the Near East. Complex puppets, costumes, masks, scenery and digital animation work together to cast stunning, larger-than-life shadows which become a “live animation” on a cinema-size screen.
Feathers of Fire is the creation of award-winning Iranian filmmaker and graphic artist Hamid Rahmanian in collaboration with Larry Reed and ShadowLight Productions; the play also features an original score by the acclaimed musical team, Loga Ramin Torkian and Azam Ali.
Please note: all children who enter the theater for this production must have a ticket and be at least three years old.
