A physically poetic adaptation of Yuyi Morales’ story that tells of resilience, hope and the courage it takes to find one’s voice when navigating a new place. DREAMERS honors the passion, strength, and hope that is born from the challenges experienced in an immigrant's journey and reminds us that, "Someday we will become something we haven't even yet imagined."
Told through a blend of storytelling, toy theatre, collage, and video projections, the bilingual story moves back and forth between the world of the artist and the world of her story as she reveals and recalls how she (and her baby!) gained a foothold in a new country through a love of reading. With the love of each other and the power of words, this family creates a new world of possibilities that allows them to continue to dream of a new future for themselves.

The DREAMERS virtual field trip consists of three videos for you to watch with your students:
- DREAMERS Performance (27 minutes)
- Q&A with the artist (10 minutes)
- Drama-based workshop video (20 minutes)

How long is the show?
Total video content is about 60 minutes, divided into three videos.
How many times can I view it? Once you gain access, as many times as you wish!
When can my students view it? October 4-22, 2021
Can I preview the videos? What is it like? Teachers will receive access to full videos to preview approximately one week in advance of the field trip officially opening for students. Until then, check out the posted trailer.
Do you have any supplemental material to accompany the show? Yes – we will send you additional materials to set context and help your students reflect on the virtual field trip experience.
