Throughout the year, theater professionals review high school musical productions across the state as part of the Iowa High School Musical Theater Awards (IHSMTA), presented by EMC Insurance Companies. The program culminates with the IHSMTA Showcase held at the Des Moines Civic Center. Based on reviewer scores and nominations, outstanding musicals and performers are invited to share highlights from their productions. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, this year student performances were recorded at the Des Moines Civic Center in June with safety protocols and no live audience. Supporters are invited to view the performances during a special Iowa PBS broadcast on Friday, July 9 at 8:30 p.m.

IHSMTA SHOWCASE BROADCAST DETAILS

The Showcase will be televised Friday, July 9, 2021, at 8:30 p.m. statewide on Iowa PBS.

It will also premiere on Iowa PBS’s Facebook/YouTube and be available to watch on demand on YouTube, the Iowa PBS website and the Iowa PBS Video App at the same time as the broadcast.
