Des Moines Performing Arts has a current opportunity for a part-time bartender. We are seeking individuals who are able to mix, pour, serve and sell beverages while demonstrating exemplary customer service to all guests attending Des Moines Performing Arts events.   Additional responsibilities include but are not limited to: checking ID’s, handling cash, operating point of sale equipment, selling concession items, moving and stocking product. This position is event based requiring weekend, evening and holiday work.  Hours will fluctuate based on staffing needs per event. Candidates must be at least 18 years old to apply.

Qualified candidates should have:

  • An unparalleled appreciation for service.
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred 
  • Experience with bartending, cash handling and customer service highly preferred 
  • Outstanding customer service and communication skills
  • A professional demeanor
  • A white tuxedo shirt and black pants (not provided)
  • Computer/internet access
  • Reliable transportation
  • The ability to stand for long periods of time, climb stairs and lift/carry up to 50 lbs.
